Essential Tools
When it comes to brush options, you don't need them all. Pick one that suits you best. We've linked some great brush and product options (bookmark for future makeup shopping ease!).
Steps to Prep
Preparation is key for long-lasting makeup. Proper prep prevents transfer, panda eyes, and creasing, ensuring smooth application.
Choose a Tint: If you have any discoloration on your eyelid, pick a primer with a tint to even out the skin tone.
Apply Eyeshadow Primer: Start right above your top lash line. Create a semicircle, blending from the inner corner to the outer corner and up towards your brow.

Brow Pomade
Using a brow pomade for your wing liner can give you a creamy, smooth line that lasts all day. The dense formula is perfect for sharp, precise lines.

Eyeshadow Powder
Eyeshadow powder is readily available and comes in countless shades. It works wonders for those who love to experiment with colors. Use it wet for a more intense look.

Mastering the Perfect Winged Liner for Any Eye Shape
Creating the perfect winged liner can seem daunting, but with the right techniques, you can achieve a flawless look no matter your eye shape. Today, we're going to walk through a step-by-step guide to help you master this skill quickly and efficiently.
Prepare Your Brush and Product
Start by pressing your product onto your brush. Tap off any excess on the back of your hand. This ensures an even application without clumps or smears.
Outline Your Winged Liner
Lower Lash Line Guideline: Follow your lower lash line to determine where the bottom of your winged liner will go. Stamp the product onto this line.
Symmetry is Key: Use the end of your brush to find where the top lash line should begin. This ensures both eyes are symmetrical.
Outline Before Filling: Focus on outlining the shape of your wing first. Once you have your outline, fill it in with overlapping stamping motions. For a tapered wing, drag the brush gently towards your temples, barely touching the skin.
Use an Angled Brow Brush and Cream Eyeshadow
Load Your Brush: Dip your angled brow brush into a cream eyeshadow. Brush off any excess product on the back of your hand.
Sweep Along the Lower Lash Line: Position the brush with the longest bristles towards your temples. Sweep towards the lower outer corner of your eye to set the bottom of your winged liner.
Top Outline: Use the brush handle to find the highest point of your eye, creating a mental note. Create the top outline of your wing by gently sweeping towards this point, then fill in.
For a tapered wing, drag the brush gently towards your temples, barely touching the skin.
Apply Eyeshadow as Eyeliner
Matte Finish: Ensure your eyeshadow has a matte finish for a more natural look.
Press and Pat: Using a push and wiggle brush, stamp and press the sides of the brush onto the product. Follow the lower lash line to find the bottom outline of your wing.
Short Stamping Motions: Use short, overlapping stamping motions to apply the product towards the outer corner of your eye. Sweep the brush upwards towards the temple to finish.
For a tapered wing, drag the brush gently towards your temples, barely touching the skin.
Perfecting the Wing with Brow Pomade
Load Your Brush: Sweep each side of an angled brow brush into your eyebrow pomade. Press off any excess onto the back of your hand.
Lower Lash Line as a Guide: Use your lower lash line as a guideline for the wing's outline. Find the highest point of your eye with the brush handle.
Filling Technique: Apply the product with short, overlapping sideways motions. If the product doesn't glide effortlessly, tap your brush back into the product and press off on your hand again.
Polished the Look
Use an illuminating or water-based/gel primer with a small detail brush. Sweep upward towards your temples for a clean finish.
Use a foundation brush to pat and blend any harsh edges. This multitasking step will save you time and give you a seamless look.
By following these steps, you'll minimize your time spent perfecting your winged liner without sacrificing quality.
